Our next meeting will be WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15 AT 7PM it will be held in the Main Dining Area (look for the big long table) at LUCIE MONROE’S 1600 ROANOKE ST, SUITE B, CHRISTIANSBURG, VA
At our January meeting we discussed and voted to move the location and time to a more convenient place for people to attend. We are hoping the later start time will allow more people to attend after work. Beginning in March we will also have a guest speaker each month and will be meeting in the Meeting Room at Lucie Monroe’s rather than the main dining area.
Lucie Monroe’s is a local coffee shop that also recently began serving local beers and wine. They do have a menu, however, dinner will not be the focus of this event. Lucie Monroe’s has strived to make their business as green as possible and we are happy to support a local business that shares our green-mindness.
This will be an open meeting to discuss any immediate Sierra Club business along with any local environmental news.
On the Agenda so far:
- work on planning for our participation with the Solstice Festival
- planning for a cleanup event to be had in coordination with the EWRI/COPRI group from Virginia Tech
- Matt Nottingham will be here to have an informal discussion about Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), he has worked at Floyd based Good Food, Good People working to set up CSAs with pickup locations in Blacksburg
Anything to add to our agenda? Let us know!
