Founded in 1892, the Sierra Club seeks to practice and promote the responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources. As part of the Virginia Chapter of the Sierra Club, the New River Sierra Club Chapter includes all Sierra Club members who live in the New River watershed in Virginia. Our area is 3070 square miles, and we have approximately 400 members.
This is a link to an article about a committee to decide about Stadium Woods on Virginia Tech. Is the Sierra Club going to get involved in this issue?

Many Sierra Club members have been involved with the grassroots efforts to save Stadium Woods, which is part of what was responsible in President Steger calling for the committee. While involved we haven’t been leading this fight, the Friends of Stadium Woods has taken a lead on it, and done an outstanding job! And a petition that they started is available for signing at: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/vtstadiumwoods/
